Stepping Stones: A Proposed Bursary
The Stepping Stones project is now in its second year and is exploring new avenues. One suggestion is to create a bursary which would be offered to some teenager aged around 16-18 specifically from a socially disadvantaged background. This would, it is suggested, enable them to spend a few days perhaps in a television studio learning how programmes are made. It would give them a window on the world not otherwise available and, too, would enable them to talk to their friends about such an experience. The aim would not be to create an entry to such a career necessarily but to provide a broadening experience.
